Pioneer Montana Woman Sarah Hall Dies in Whitehall

Mrs. Sarah Hall of Whitehall dies at 98 after living with daughter Lilian Hall. Born in Kentucky 1857, she came to Montana in 1862 and helped run an early flour mill with husband Sgt Hall. Funeral services in Sheridan and Whitehall outline surviving children and relatives.

Roundup Woman Found Guilty in Fatal Crash

A coroner jury found Mrs. Helen Sercel Shaman of Roundup guilty of careless driving causing an accident that killed four people. Victims were Jacob Ostermiller of Billings Charles Becker and Ruth Ann Sercel of Roundup. Edith Becker died later in Roundup Memorial Hospital.

Anaconda to Expand Chile Copper Output Under New Law

Patrolman’s Wife Killed in Wreck Near Wibaux

Mrs. Thomas Meely of Missoula, 54, died Tuesday afternoon when her car veered to avoid a bad spot on U S Highway 10 about five miles west of Wibaux. Sheriff Meek said the vehicle overturned after dropping into a ditch and the woman appeared to be ejected as the car rolled. The accident raised Montana’s highway death toll to 60 for the year.

Driver Exonerated in Wolf Point Boy Death

In a coroner's inquest the driver Miss Phoebe Boyson, 19, Wolf Point, was exonerated in the traffic death of 9 year old Delano L. Reddog. The jury ruled the accident unavoidable and that the boy walked on the wrong side of the road on a Montana highway east of Wolf Point.
