Three persons were injured late Friday when their car left the highway near the N P icehouse on Montgomery street. Jean Burke was treated for severe leg lacerations face contusions and shock. her condition not serious. Ted Jordan suffered a severe scalp wound and Lila Claggett had knee and face lacerations. All were returned home. Deputies Weber and Barnicoat said the party was traveling from Columbia Gardens to Butte when the accident occurred.

Pete OBrien a 58 year old veteran fireman collapsed while fighting a Carter street fire in Butte late Thursday. He was dragged from the burning house by fellow firefighter Ed Lynch and died en route to St. James hospital. Coroner Rudy Sayatovic suspects suffocation. OBrien had 20 years on the department and is survived by his wife and two sons John and Dan.

Five Die in Freak Train Mishap Near Huntingdon
Five passengers are killed and about forty injured when two steel plates from a freight train ripped into the New York to St. Louis American passenger car near Huntingdon Pennsylvania. The crash at 11 47 a m derailed a second freight train and left dazed passengers bleeding on a four track mainline five miles west of town. Coroner Blair Shore warned the death toll could rise as more patients arrived badly mangled.
