Dr Savage Speaking Contest Winners Announced at Butte High
Roger Youlden and Betty Graham, junior students, won the twenty third annual Dr Savage speaking contest at Butte High School. Nine contestants competed in the declamation event with three boys and six girls. Youlden took the boys division and Miss Graham the girls. Woman Dies After Brutal Daylight Attack in Chattanooga
Mrs. Eula Mae McConnell the 23 year old wife of a theater manager and mother of twins died after a daylight assault in a fashionable Chattanooga apartment complex. Police said she identified an unknown visitor as her assailant who broke her jaw stomped her body and left prints from rubber heels on her abdomen.
