Twenty Granted Citizenship In Federal Hearing

In a brief federal court session Judge George M. Bourquin granted 20 Butte residents citizenship after short hearings. Four applications were not approved, with three continued pending depositions on residence terms. Granted names include Marco Gurgevich and Catherine Mickelson among others from England Serbia Italy Germany Sweden and Switzerland.

Federal raid nets arrest of William Anderson on liquor charge

Federal prohibition officers raided a 410 South Main street soft drink shop yesterday, arresting William Anderson. He was presented before U. S. Commissioner George Howard and arraigned on possession of intoxicating liquors, bonds set at 250 dollars. Seized liquor was destroyed and bar fixtures and furnishings moved to storage with Jones Transfer and Storage.

Suit Began Over Unpaid Bill of Goods in District Court

Theodore N. Smith filed a suit in district court against J. P. Hansen to recover 524.85 plus interest and attorney fees for goods allegedly delivered unpaid. Edinburgh, Scotland, was advised by the British air ministry to stop using the Royal Air Force aerodrome as a municipal airport.

Pop order cancelled over umpire choice at picnic game

An order for soda pop for the Shiner Furniture store annual picnic at Pipestone Springs was cancelled after Lou Frank was named umpire. Frank refused to officiate under any conditions and warned against mob spirit at the game. A big dinner will follow. Cars will take picnickers to the Springs for a day of races and prizes.

Retail Merchants Meet in Great Falls June 9 10

Charles Rodda Returns After Eastern Journey

Butte detective Charles Rodda returned from a trip to Minneapolis and other Middle West points. He was summoned as a witness in a court action in Minneapolis and later visited his sister Mrs. Lillie Pendray in Detroit whom he had not seen for 35 years.
