Six Men Hurt in Mine Mishap at St. Lawrence Mine
Six men were injured Thursday morning when a mine cage jumped a guide on the 600 foot level at the St. Lawrence mine. Basil Jones Mike Jankovich Nova Minich Calvin Roth Nick Nicksich and John Mehalko were taken to St. James hospital for examination and treatment with six hospitalized. The cage halted at the 19 5 foot level after the lower deck struck a wall plate while 22 men were aboard on the morning shift. The 200 man day shift were mostly lowered when the accident occurred.
