Pilgrims from many lands march through snow and rain along the Way of the Cross in Old Jerusalem. The crowd, organized by language, stops at the 14 Stations with sermons describing Christ’s path to Calvary.
A three car crash on U S Highway 10 ten miles south of Townsend left one man critically injured and two others hurt. James Toma of Rodersburg in serious condition while George Bales of Townsend was hospitalized in fair condition. Mrs Roland Kimpton from Crow Creek Valley near Toston had only minor injuries. Investigating officers withheld details pending further inquiry.

President and Mrs. Eisenhower attended Good Friday services at the National Presbyterian Church on Connecticut Avenue. Darkness interrupted an air search for a light airplane and two occupants reported down in the Pryor Mountains about 50 miles south of Billings. Chesley G. Allred, 25, and Bob Brown, 28, both Crow Agency residents, were aboard the World War II Luscombe. The plane took off from Hardin around 6 am Friday and had no flight plan filed. Searchers from Billings and Hardin, aided by amateur radio operators, resumed at dawn Saturday.
Thomas L. Johnston a 24 year old former Billings Mont apprentice embalmer faced murder charges for the slaying of 7 year old Ronald Wendord in a theater restroom. He dropped his insanity defense after five psychiatrists found no basis for it. The trial was continued as defense rested.
SAN FRANCISCO continuing high and unfair taxation and the growing power of labor unions constitute a threat to American business, said President Cola G. Parker of the National Association of Manufacturers. He spoke at the Commonwealth Club of California and warned the tax system and union power could crush the spark of our economic life.

Three persons were killed and two injured Friday night when a twin-engined Air Force cargo plane crashed into a rocky hill seven miles south of Klamath Falls Oregon. The C45 was on a training flight from McClellan Base near Sacramento to McNary Field in Salem. Names were withheld pending relatives notification. Rescuers reached the wreckage hours after the crash. the three bodies were reported burned.
Ernst Wollweber acknowledged some false arrests in East Germany and called for policing reforms while stressing only a trifling number of unjustified detentions. The conference also unveiled a 3.6 billion mark five year plan for a National People's Army and backed Walter Ulbricht's denunciation of Stalin.
The Agriculture Department reports farm prices rose 2 percent between mid February and mid March, lifting to about 3 percent above year start levels. Livestock prices gained 3 percent while milk and eggs fell, with overall 1952 comparisons showing declines from a year ago and near 1951 peaks.

A 77-year-old boy underwent a three hour operation at Children's Memorial Hospital to repair a heart defect with a hole in the wall. The heart stopped for 22 minutes while an artificial heart and lung circulated blood. Sixteen medics assisted as doctors described his condition as fair while he remained on an oxygen tent and could speak.
An Internal Revenue Department review found an error in a certified public accountant’s tax return, costing him about a thousand dollars. The issue was corrected. The notice ends with an unrelated Want Ads pitch for sale ads and a 1946 Plymouth listing.
A Senate House conference panel approved a 1.7 billion dollar program for election year farm aid. The package includes 750 million annually for acreage underplantings, 450 million in long range soil bank benefits, and 500 million for pork and perishables price supports. French forces intensified anti guerrilla operations across Algeria with major combat near Akbou in Constantine region. Rebels suffered heavy losses including 18 killed there and 28 dead overall in broader fighting. a French soldier died and others were wounded. In Morocco, 30 chieftains of the Liberation Army pledged to disarm before Sultan Mohammed ben Youssef.
Costa Mesa police linked soldiers stationed near the first victim’s home to the second slaying near a Nike base. Oleta Camille Johnson, 18, was found in her Auto Court cabin decently dressed, while Barbara Jean Jepsen, 18, was slain in Van Nuys January 31. Police examined 30 nearby soldiers then relocated to the Nike base near Costa Mesa as they pursued the weapon and questioned Harold Johnson, 19, who said he and the victim married in Palestine Texas without a license.
