Butte Firefighter Brant Bristol Inspires peers after Seattle climb
Capt Brant Bristol of the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department finished ninth of 1,822 in the Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle. Carrying about 50 pounds of gear, he ascended 69 flights of Columbia Center in 13 minutes and 12 seconds. Bristol, 37, was gravely injured on Yale Avenue fire duties May 7, 2023, when a roof collapsed, fracturing his neck and dislocating a spine. He calls himself lucky as he continues recovery.
