Three Youths Plead Guilty in Butte After Tournament Riot
Sam Clayton John B McBee and Roger Adolphson all 18 pleaded guilty and sought immediate judgment in two Butte courts after a near riot at the Skookum Motel during the Class AA high school basketball tournament. Adolphson fined 100 dollars with suspended four month jail, Clayton 75 dollar fine and four month suspended sentence, McBee 25 dollar fine and 30 day suspended sentence. Deputy Casarotto and Patrolman Madlena were injured. Madlena hospitalized but returned to duty. Authorities favored leniency citing prior good records and shown remorse, while a youth believed responsible remained at large.
