In Butte last night the six day police training school opened with more than 56 officers registered from across Montana. Judge Lynch's courtroom hosted the 6 30 p m session. Sheriff McLeod said more registrants were expected tonight and tomorrow. Heavy Officer Captures Fugitive by Falling on Him
Police officer Roy Beadle weighing 250 pounds tackled an escaping prisoner at Park and Main streets last Saturday night. Beadle pursued after the youth fled, the suspect fell, and Beadle landed on him. Jimmy Campbell sustained a right shoulder injury and was taken to St James hospital.

Fire breaks out in court but session continues
A fire beneath the court floor near a radiator pipe appeared during a police court session but Judge Louis A. Buckley and City Attorney Floyd Fluent kept hearings ongoing.
