Chester Liberty County Attorney James W. Hall died in a Chester hospital after his car left a gravel road near the Marias River and overturned Friday night. Hall said he dozed at the wheel while returning from Great Falls. He had surgery Monday night and died after midnight. Survivors include his widow and two small children. Missing West Point Cadet Trapped Eight Days in Boxcar
Jerome Lee Gibbons an 18 year old West Point plebe from Fulton New York disappeared after fear of flunking a physical test and hid in a sealed Jersey City bound Erie boxcar living eight days on raw potatoes. He weighed 15 pounds lighter when found and was hospitalized at the U S Military Academy in West Point. A Jersey City doctor said he was dehydrated from lack of water and he remained mentally alert. He told railroad police I just wanted to get away from it. He entered the potato car at Campbell Hall New York after slipping inside the night of March 18 and the car was sealed before the train departed.
