Reid Robinson Held in Canadian Custody
Reid Robinson vice president of the Informational Mine Mill and Amelter Workers was held for an Immigration Board hearing in Toronto. The American labor leader, last living in Butte Montana, was arrested in Timmons Ontario after arriving in Canada last October amid a ban on U S labor organizers. Immigration officials gave no comment on future actions. Robinson backed a push to oust Ralph Carlin, a union business agent, but the effort failed after 500 members demanded reinstatement.

Three Men Die and Fourteen Hurt in Bethlehem Furnace Slip
Bethlehem Po March 24 Three men were killed and 14injured Wednesday night when a slip of hot smoke from a furnace at the Bethlehem Steel works trapped workers. The blaze occurred while a furnace was being blown out to shut down. The smoke from the coke poured out of a tuyere and spread around the area, trapping men. Two nearby gas furnaces were shut down with no extended damage, a company spokesman said. Five injuries listed as third degree burns at St. Luke hospital.

Automobile Fire Extinguished at Sullivan Residence
