Two Butte Fliers Die In West of Butte Plane Crash
The light plane carrying Jack J. Elderkin and Robert C. Hodge crashed on a snow covered sagebrush flat southwest of Butte. Both pilots, Butte natives, were killed instantly. A 33 flight search team and officials located the wreck at 12 47 p m after 20 passes over the area. The crash site lay about eight miles west of town near U S Highway 91 and the Victor Chemical Co plant. Relatives watched a vigil as aviators combed the area by air and ground seeking the craft amid a snowy search backdrop.

Bozeman Woman Killed in Wreck
Barbara Jean Slininger twenty one died when her 1957 convertible left U S Highway 191 near Bozeman and rolled after a pass attempt. Her husband Keith Malcolm Slininger was injured with a broken leg. the car engine tore away and the couple were thrown clear. Survivors include the parents Vern and wife and a one year old child. The 1964 traffic toll rose to 54.

Montana Snowstorm Drops Heavy Doses Across State
