Suffrage Leader Rosalie Jones Heads Open Air Meeting in Butte

In July 1914 Rosalie Jones 31 led a large open air suffrage gathering in Butte with Jeannette Rankin and others. The movement, promoting women’s votes in Montana, preceded the November 1914 election where male voters approved the initiative 41302 to 37588. Jones urged 70 attendees at Gamer’s Tea Room to join the active ranks.
