William Phillipe, a repair man, was trapped for 45 minutes inside a baker's oven at 350 F. He weighed 200 pounds and could not back out through the 16 inch door. Police removed the oven front and brick lining to rescue him. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
In Rome Mussolini addressed 5,000 Fascist leaders unveiling a sixty year program of internal and external expansion to grant Italy world primacy in the 21st century. He spoke before figures including Marconi and the cabinet outlining a long term strategic vision.
