Irish St Patrick parade sparks joy in Butte crowd
In Butte the St Patrick’s Day parade drew hundreds of residents and visitors to celebrate in the city’s Irish heart. Grand marshal Jim McCarthy rode in a green VW decked by sisters Sue MacPherson and Sandi Seccomb while the Edmonton Police Service Pipes and Drums returned from four years away. Father Beretta praised the day as joyful yet spiritually meaningful as spectators enjoyed floats, penguin accents from Whitehall Winter Carnival, and a community eager to welcome spring.
