Olsen Files for Democratic Nomination to U.S. House
Former Montana attorney general Arnold Olsen filed to seek the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House from the Western Montana district. The Butte-born Helena resident joins Mayor James Shea and Melvin Colvin in the race to replace Rep. Lee Metcalf, with no Republican candidate yet declared. Olsen, 43, called for cutting waste in military and foreign aid budgets to fund schools, roads, and jobs in distressed areas.
