Artist Benny Noon Dies After Banister Fall in Butte
Bernard Benny Noon aged about 45 was fatally injured Sunday morning when he fell from a rear porch banister at 315 FE Park in Butte. He lived at the YMCA. Coroner Dr. Emmet J. Paulsen and Police Chief B J Riley ruled out foul play after examining the body. He had head scratches from braces in the fall and died before arrival at the hospital. Noon, a native of Butte and a noted artist and cartoonist, is survived by a brother Charles Noon of Deer Lodge and a brother in law and sister Mr and Mrs Dave L Rice of Tacoma. The body rests at Duggan Merrill Mortuary with Daly-Shea Mortuary handling arrangements.

Five young men died when their car crashed into an underpass abutment 12 miles northwest of Palm Springs California at about 90 mph. Driver David Maddox 19 and four others all from Garden Grove were among the victims. In a separate crash near Summerland three members of a Santa Barbara family were killed on U S Highway 101.
