Patrick Boyle Hurt In Auto Mishap Near Broadway Covert
Patrick J. Boyle 58 of 430 East Granite remained in critical condition at St. James hospital after being struck by a car driven by Bill Davis of 627 East Park Street near the Broadway Covert intersection yesterday about 5 30. Davis was held without bonds in the city jail on drunken driving charges. The eastbound Davis car hit Boyle as he crossed East Broadway about 50 feet east of the Covert intersection. Police said the windshield struck Boyle knocking him unconscious and shattered the windshield. Davis reportedly turned around, took Boyle to the hospital, where authorities continued to investigate the crash.
