Anna Roosevelt with her grandchildren Sissie and Buzzie are at the White House.
Wholesale commodity prices climbed again in February, lifting the Department of Labor index to 73.6 per cent of the 1926 average from 72.2 in January. The Bureau of Labor Statistics notes a general advance with fuel and lighting materials falling 1 per cent, and the index up 23 per cent from February 1933.
The Montana region is expected to experience generally fair weather on Sunday and Monday with little change in temperatures. No strong fronts or precipitation are anticipated. The outlook emphasizes stable, mild conditions for the weekend.
Helena March 17. James H. Stewart chairman of the state board of equalization urged early filing of state income tax reports though the deadline remains April 15. Individuals earning 2500 or more must file. exemptions are 1000 for single, 2000 for married or head of family, and 300 per dependent. Blank forms will be mailed to county clerks and can be obtained through the county clerk by midweek.
To aid crippled children of Butte and nearby communities the Butte Auxiliary for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children plans a fundraiser. Some 150 residents will launch a drive aiming to raise 7500 dollars to support activities for another year. Dr. F E Savage will deliver a radio address at 8:30 PM to urge success. Forestry officials in the Deer Lodge area report eradicating porcupines in Basin and West Gallatin as the war on the pest continues. About 200 animals have been killed using firearms, poison bait, and traps, with the hunt slated to run through late spring amid damage to pines camps and huts.

Toasts used tea or milk due to a liquor ban while crowds saw the new gray green volunteer army uniform closely modeled on the Roger Casement Irish Brigade uniforms. Blue Shirts paraded against Green volunteers in many districts.
Lieut Harold G Richardson, a former United Airlines pilot recalled to active service, died when his O 38 E single motor biplane crashed near Fort Francis E Warren in Cheyenne. An eye witness reported a spin before the dive and explosion. The investigation was sent to Washington while similar crashes earlier claimed two otherLieutenants.
William Heikkila of East Park and Mr and Mrs Fred Gilmore of South Colorado were injured in separate late day crashes and admitted to Murray hospital. Heikkila suffered chest injuries and possible skull fracture after being struck by a westbound car driven by Al Castiglioni. Castiglioni posted a $100 bond and was released. Gilmore and his wife, en route to Butte, rolled thrice after hitting loose dirt. dairy driver from Buxton brought them to hospital where doctors noted severe bruises and lacerations but no serious injuries.
