Kalispell Girl Killed in I-90 Wreck Near Kalispell

A 19 year old Kalispell girl Nancy Putnam a student at Eastern Montana College was killed and five others injured two seriously in a rear end collision on Interstate 90 two miles east of Kalispell on Thursday. This marked the 21st Montana death in the year.

Butte district seeks 467000 special school levy

Trustees of School District 1 of Butte move to a special millage election on April 1 to raise 467350.55 for operation maintenance and new relocatable classrooms. The measure based on a 44333425 value would fund elementary and high school needs including salaries books supplies and insurance with about two mills for relocatable classrooms. The EPC led by R P Corbett backs the plan as part of ongoing district improvements. Superintendent Charles Davis warns of 22 additional teachers needed next term amid parochial school first grade changes.
