Montana Voters Could Decide State Reorganization Plan
Governor Forrest H. Anderson asks Montana lawmakers to place a constitutional amendment on the 1970 ballot to cap executive branch to 20 departments. If approved by two thirds in both houses and voters, the 1971 legislature would consolidate 100 plus boards and agencies into 20 departments.
