Jailed host and 44 teens tied to beer bust raid

Sheriff William Dalling described a Sunday raid on a South Side home near Clark Park that netted 44 juveniles and one adult. Risto Kurilich, owner of the residence, faces investigation for contributing to the delinquency of minors as 29 youths under 18 and nine girls were taken into custody.

Rusk Declares Berlin Harassment Troubling to Talks

In Geneva, Secretary of State Dean Rusk told An dorei Gromyko the United States did not like recent Berlin provocations by the Communists. Rusk hosted a four hour supper for Gromyko and Lord Home, with top aides, to begin the Big Three discussions. He said leaders would gauge Soviet intentions after further meetings, amid warnings that Berlin tactics could disrupt negotiations on Germany, nuclear testing, and disarmament.

Siamese twins die in Glasgow hospital

Siamese twin girls joined at the chest and abdomen died Sunday at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow. The twins were born Saturday to Mrs. Myravies 3, wife of a 30 year old laborer, according to UPI dispatch.

No Inquest Planned in Fatal Collision in Montana

Coroner Andy Aleksich announced no inquest will be held into the March 1 crash that killed James D. Fall of Seattle and Thomas C. Reynolds of Butte. He found no eyewitnesses or sufficient testimony to fix blame, though a Reynolds truck damaged a nearby restaurant injuring a woman.

Derailment of NP Mainstreeter Near Nelson Crossing

Eight cars and a three unit diesel engine of the Northern Pacific Mainstreeter derailed early Sunday near Easton Washington leaving about 65 passengers unharmed. A spokesman cited a broken rail as the tentative cause and buses ferried passengers to Pasco for later service to St Paul.

Six Hospital Babies Die Salt Thought Used in Formulas

In Binghamton New York six newborns died after formulas used in the hospital may have contained salt instead of sugar. Autopsies were begun. Plane Crashed Into House Killing Four In Louisiana

A heavy rain triggered a landslide in Pensilvania Caldas province burying 23 people. The disaster left about 45,000 residents homeless and prompted emergency relief efforts.

Noted Butte Physician Dr. Horst Dies at 85

Dr. Carl Herman Horst 85, longtime Butte physician, died Sunday at his home 11 N Washington after 56 years of practice. Born July 9, 1876 in Virginia City Nevada, he studied at Stanford and Johns Hopkins before returning to Butte. Survived by wife, two sons, and several relatives.
