Injunction Hearing Set Over Butte Civic Center Case

An injunction hearing is set for Monday before Judge John B. McClernan over the Butte civic center project. Anthony Matule filed suit on behalf of Silver Bow taxpayers against Commissioners Joe H. Sullivan Emmett P. O'Brien Loretta L. Sullivan and Cahill-Mooney Construction alleging misrepresentation and illegal contracts and seeking to halt work. Initial construction began Feb 23 but was paused when papers were served.

Bonner Announces May Meeting on Game Conservation

Sleeps Between Rails as Trains Roll by

George Moore slept between railroad ties in Oakland California as six boxcars passed over him and two freight trains may have rolled over him. Transport Crash Kills C 47 Pilot in Arkansas

An Air Force C 47 transport crashed and burned near Hope Arkansas on Saturday afternoon killing the pilot. The three other crewmen bailed out and landed safely. The big plane went down three miles southwest of the watermelon marketing center during a heavy rainstorm. Earlier a private plane crashed near Malvern, killing one man and injuring another.

Community Chest Reaches Its Campaign Goal In Butte

The Silver Bow County Community Chest said on Saturday it reached its $59,389.60 goal. about $6,834 remains as pledges. Payments may be made via Harry Frank or Dave Reese, with 80 percent paid to agencies and near 100 percent upon pledge receipt. Directors credited John E. Corette Jr. and workers, invited more agencies to affiliate, and changed election timing to May for new officers.

Las Vegas Pilot Killed in Jet Crash at Range West of City

A Las Vegas Air Force base pilot died when his F-80 jet crashed and exploded during a training flight at the Indian Springs bombing range 45 miles west of Las Vegas. The accident occurred Saturday and the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft.

Motorist Swerves to Miss Dog Tragedy in Hart Michigan
