Louis Boyle 49 widely known Butte engraver died last night at Murray hospital after a two week illness. He lived at the Lenox hotel and had worked for Frank Ward in Butte for 12 years. Born Salt Lake City, he moved to Butte in childhood and later became a carpenter and millwright before engraving. He also built mills in Basin and Elkhorn before an apprenticeship with Billings Gazette. He then returned to work for Ward in Butte for eight years before going to California.
