Episcopal Bishop G Richard Millard ordained the Rev Richard York at St Mark's Berkeley in a weekend ceremony for the Telegraph Avenue hippie community. About 500 attendees joined a sitar music litany and a Digger dinner with music love joy incense and peace. The Rev York wore a swirling robe as roving children joined the ceremony.

Cycle-truck crash kills Missoula man

Poll shows America doubts Vietnam involvement
A Gallup Poll across the country finds more Americans believe the United States was wrong to enter Vietnam. Only 33 percent see progress in the war, down from 50 percent in November. Seven of ten doves and four of ten hawks feel the mistake was made. The survey tracks opinions over two and a half years with varying yes and no responses.
