Seven more youths joined county jail population as police arrested teens Saturday in Butte. A youth attacked Sgt. Huhtanen outside the Finlen Hotel and was restrained after kicking and swinging. Two girls and two boys were arrested for illegal liquor possession with 19 beer cans. Late Friday two younger teens were detained for disturbing the peace and drunkenness.

Ferromanganese Work To Resume At Anaconda Plant
Anaconda Co will restart ferromanganese operations at its Reduction department in Anaconda on Monday to rebuild depleted stock. E I Renouard, vice president, said the effort will run a few months and create about 100 jobs. A second phase will add about 30 more workers when the manganese concentrator and kiln start about a week later. Ore comes from the Emma Mine stockpile in Butte. Emma mine itself will not reopen.
