Mrs. Cora Bell Sullivan 53 of Gregson was killed when her car collided head on with Dr W J Sullivan of Butte three miles east of Anaconda after skidding on a snow iced highway. Dr Sullivan and son were treated. another driver also struck the wreckage.
Premier Mussolini and German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop conferred for an hour and a quarter on the possibility of Britain and France sending troops to aid Finland in its war with the Soviet Union.
A heavy March snowstorm dumped about 18 inches in the Highlands south of Butte while temperatures stayed below freezing. Nine Mile area reported 10 inches with ongoing snowfall last night and slippery highways. The day featured a low of 18 and a high of 27 with 0.03 inch precipitation. Similar unsettled weather was forecast for today with light snow and cloudy skies. In other notes, an auto fatality near Anaconda due to slick roads occurred as light snow affected Missoula Helena Butte Great Falls Havre Miles City.
Berlin March 10 Adolf Hitler urged "on to victory" against imperial England and France in a brief 11 minute talk at the Zeig Haus. He vowed to press on to the most glorious victory in German history naming no halt to the war effort even at his own life risk. The leader spoke in solemn tones of sacrifice and will to triumph amid a Memorial day setting without his usual oratorical display.
Helsinki dispatch reports Premier Ryti leading a four man Finnish delegation to Moscow to hear Russian peace proposals. While Moscow opens talks mediated by Sweden observers note continued heavy fighting and fresh Finnish victories on many fronts. Russia has not disclosed terms and says no decision yet.
London March 10 The 5600 ton German steamer Hannover was intercepted by a British cruiser in Mona channel near Puerto Rico. The Nazi vessel fired and abandoned ship to avoid capture as it sailed from Willestad Netherlands West Indies with ore and lumber bound to run the blockade.
Campaign director Mrs. Paul I Needham announced greater efforts in the final three days to wrap up the Girl Scout fund drive. Several contacts remain and workers will interview people as the drive ends on Wednesday after opening last Monday. So far just over half of the $2,500 goal has been raised.

Edward J. Carroll a 46 year old Belmont miner died from a broken neck after allegedly leaving his South Ohio Street cabin to take a walk and falling into a city WPA ditch at Platinum and Hopkins. Police reported the body found in an 11 foot three inch ditch with no signs of violence aside from neck and facial Bruises. Coroner Don Sheehy said no inquest was needed and investigators noted lights barricades and a night watchman at the closed Hopkins Street trench project site.
Butte Finns at the Finnish hall on North Wyoming Street held talks and entertainment to boost a war relief fund. They have raised about $2,100 through their program and solicitations, adding to a previous $700 city campaign. Last week they shipped more clothing to New York for Finland, totaling one ton of garments from the mining city.
