Kennedy aides claim Kennedy said CIA contracted Mafia to hit Castro
Two former aides to Robert Kennedy say in 1967 he told them the CIA had contracted with the Mafia to assassinate Fidel Castro before the 1961 Bay of Pigs raid. Kennedy allegedly stopped the plan and discussed assurances in writing from the CIA. The CIA declined to comment.
