Cheyenne March 9 UP two thousand troops from the first and 20th regiments fourth brigade U S A stationed at Fort D A Russell are ordered held in readiness for service on the Mexican border. Railroads may be used on short notice and ships boxes have been bought at local supply houses.
Cyrus S. Eaton an industrial magnate with roots in Nova Scotia and Toronto rose from Baptist minister to head the International Heating and Lighting company. He moved to Cleveland business circles by 1910 and later partnered with W W Abbott as civil engineers before joining banking circles at Lake Shore Banking and Trust.
Helena March 9. Both houses extended recesses as they sought a compromise on a million dollar cut rejected by the senate finance committee. Conference committees were named to reconcile appropriation measures while urging no spending beyond available income amid a hopeless stalemate and looming adjournment.
Geneva March 9 The League of Nations council praised two historic decisions closing its 54th session. It endorsed America initiative to reopen negotiations for wage to the world court of justice and agreed to hold the June council session in Spain. Elihu Root was cited as driving the court reopening and U S membership appeared imminent.

President Herbert Hoover completed his first week with a flurry of meetings on farm relief law enforcement and the Mexican revolution. House and Senate leaders visited to discuss a legislative program for the upcoming special session and Kellogg reported no new alarm from Mexican unrest.
Jacqueline Moret, 24, a woman who had posed as a man, was sentenced to two to three years in the Colorado state penitentiary at Canon City by Judge Bryant Cramer in Casper. She pleaded guilty to holding up Harry Middaugh at the Two-for-One store.
Dr. Hugo Eckener plans a May Atlantic flight of the Graf Zeppelin to America with possible June and July hops. F. W. von Meister announced the schedule, and a three stop around the world attempt may follow later this year.
Felix Steinle announced the National Parks Airways hangar and office at Butte airport will begin this week if materials are available. He arrived yesterday and will stay until construction starts, then return to Salt Lake City to move the operations office. The hangar will be 100 by 150 feet of corrugated iron with a metal roof, about six weeks to complete, aiming for May 1 use, at the intersection of two runways.
Six riggers employed by a construction company building the Patrick Street bridge on the Kanawha River were drowned when a cable bucket broke loose midstream. The six men, from Danville Virginia Henderson North Carolina Gauley Ridge West Union and High Point, were swept away as the bucket plunged. George Hunter and coroner investigators held bond pending inquiry as authorities searched the river for bodies.
Pope Pius voiced happiness over the Italo Vatican conciliation at a Vatican gathering of 100 diplomats from 35 countries. He credited diplomatists with shaping a universal plebiscite in favor of the agreement and said support since 1870 has been a chief source of comfort to him.

In Bozeman on March 9 Cus ter county high claimed the state high school basketball title with a 30 to 25 win over Butte Central. Central fought valiantly trailing 18 to 6 at halftime and showed courage throughout. Miles City led by captain Tobin dominated late and eclipsed the Maroons as the Powder River boys secured their second crown of the school year.
Washington March 9. President Hoover ends daily noon receptions, keeping only two or three per week to save time for pressing tasks, a temporary change from Coolidge era practices.
