Stream restoration to aid fish habitat and youth angling near Anaconda

The George Grant Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Anaconda-Deer Lodge County plan to restore over 1,000 feet of Fifer Gulch and 5 acres of wetlands near Warm Springs Creek. A linked spring creek will improve riffle and pool habitat for trout while expanding angling access for local youths. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025 after public comment on the environmental assessment.

Fentanyl seizures rise in Montana as deaths grow

Montana AG says state anti drug task forces seized fentanyl at more than double 2022 levels in 2023 while 80 overdose deaths were attributed to fentanyl in preliminary crime lab data. AG Knudsen links rising seizures to border policy and vows more enforcement tools.
