The Silver Bow County appraisal, to establish equitable land and building values from sheds to mines, will begin next week for 20 months. William O. Nance announced the state law driven project, conducted by Justin H. Hayes Co. of Denver for equalization of residential, commercial, rural, industrial and mining real estate and improvements.

Mining operations on Butte Hill resumed and ore trains moved to the Anaconda smelter following a temporary restraining order by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals halting a jurisdictional dispute strike. The walkout by the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen had halted copper and zinc mines, risking smelter closures in Anaconda and Great Falls. The Montana Class AA state championship drew 39,990 spectators at the Civic Center, surpassing the prior 35,000 mark from 1953. Eight sessions and 16 games this year boosted overall attendance, with about 9,000 attending the Saturday night finale. Fans queued before 6 pm despite box office hours, many from out of town.

Husband Kills Six Of Family and Self
In Lancaster Ohio a neighbor discovering a days-old tragedy found six dead and one suicide. Roland Soper 28 killed wife Vela 29 and her two children and then shot himself. Helena AP Montana senators ended the 1959 session formal business by passing the final portion of major appropriation measures totaling 42 595 854 dollars. Three large bills were heavily amended in the Senate Finance and Claims Committee and sent back to the House for concurrence. The body recessed after 7 p.m. to reconvene at Lt. Gov. Paul Cannon's call around 10 a.m. Monday for possible final adjournment. Sunday was set for employees to file the last of the approved bills. Four money bills were killed after adverse committee reports. One would have paid 20 a day expenses to 1961 assembly members in addition to salaries. another sought 144 000 for a Cerebral Palsy and Handicapped Children's Center.

Montana Plane Crash Kills 2 in Cloudy Cliffs
Two North Dakota men, Ken Knudson a 32 year old pilot from Williston and Kay Zieman a 34 year old from Minot, died when their light plane pancaked in heavy fog on snow covered high plains in Roosevelt County. Coroner Lyman Clayton reported skull fractures and other injuries. Bodies found four miles from a road after 60 search planes scanned the countryside.

The upper Midwest faced a late season blizzard that dumped up to 22 inches in Iowa Michigan and Wisconsin and left at least 39 dead from traffic accidents asphyxiation and heart attacks linked to shoveling. Butte Fire Victim Listed Improved
A 45 year old Butte man, Earl Noll, over come by smoke in a mattress fire at Reynolds McDowell Block was reported slightly improved after being rushed to Community Memorial Hospital. Firemen said the blaze likely started from smoking in bed. Noll, a former auto accident crippled pensioner, was found on the floor by rooming house operator Nell Sievers who initially suspected death. He lived at 209 Colorado before moving in about a year ago.
