Montana loses longtime capitol journalist Chuck Johnson
Charles S. Chuck Johnson, a 74 year old Montana journalist known as the dean of the capitol press corps for covering state politics for decades, has died. He mentored many reporters and covered 22 Montana legislative sessions and seven governors. Services are pending at St Peter's Episcopal Cathedral. Johnson retired in 2015 after a career with Lee Newspapers and the Billings Gazette among others. Governor Gianforte called him a legend and a giant in political journalism.
