Fatal crash near Sidney claims truck driver Lessman
Sidney truck driver Sylvester G. Lessman, 34, died when his car left Montana Highway 16 and rolled into a borrow pit about three miles south of Sidney. The 7:30 p m Tuesday crash stretched 280 feet off the left shoulder and 165 feet diagonally on the highway before dropping 107 feet into a sheep corral. Found by a motorist at 6 a m Wednesday, his neck and skull were likely fractured. Survivors include his mother two sisters and three brothers. Richland county recorded its first traffic fatality of the year and the state's 22nd, down from 26 a year ago.
