Officer and girl wounded in gun affray in Seattle
In Seattle on March 5 a man armed with two revolvers opened fire in a fashionable district. Sergeant H D Bakenhus was shot through the lung and a girl, Bella McCoy, 16, was wounded three times as the attacker sprayed shots at the Cook home. Patrolman A T Neilson and neighbor Ed Thompson overpowered the gunman, later identified as Tony Procaccio, 50. Bakenhus remained in critical condition. Miss McCoy had arm wounds.
