Solons May Work 3 Days Overtime

Montana tax plan seen raising bills for most residents
Democratic lawmakers unveiled House Bill 557 to balance a 161 million general fund budget over two years. University of Montana analysis estimates Montana residents would face a 15.8 percent rise in personal income tax for most, with high earners above 14 000 dollars seeing increases between 16.3 and 25.6 percent. The plan eliminates the 5 percent tax credit, adds a 10 percent surcharge, and raises rates on higher income brackets. Total new money projected is about 19.9 million over two years.
