London reports packs of long range U boats are being concentrated in Norwegian waters for a final desperate campaign against Allied shipping in the Atlantic. Norwegian sources say about 300 submarines and several light cruisers and destroyers are based in Norway with fixed concrete block stations along the coast. Some German reports claim only about 80 boats are active now, but a successful operation could trigger a total mobilization for a last fling at Allied seaborne trade.
