James F. Byrne 78 died in Silver Bow General Hospital after being found suffering from exposure on a sidewalk near 58 W. Mercury. Police reported no foul play. an autopsy will determine cause. Butte Native Thomas Grose Killed in Vietnam Action
Thomas M. Grose, 20, a Butte native who lived there until 1955, was killed in Vietnam last Tuesday as a helicopter crew chief. He had recently received the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism before his helicopter was shot down in flames. His parents, Mr and Mrs George R Grose of 1010 Leslie Helena, were notified he was missing and then confirmed dead.

Governor vetoes legalization of bingo in Montana
Gov. Forrest Anderson vetoed HB400 to put the bingo question to voters in November 1970. He warned that legalizing bingo could weaken the constitution and laws and cited enforcement and gambling concerns. The veto was sustained by the House.
