Man Fails to Lose FBI in Big Butte Chase
Eddy Ray Layne an 18 year old Army deserter ran a running course through Butte and up Big Butte in a pursuit by FBI agents. He was caught at the base of the hill after a brief chase and held for military authorities. Layne deserted from Fort Huachuca Arizona on October 14.
