Two Butte residents, Mr and Mrs Jacob Losk, were among twelve Montana passengers hurt when the Northcoast Limited wrecked off the Northern Pacific tracks near Sandpoint Idaho. Mrs Losk sustained rib fractures and the couple traveled to Portland by plane after ambulances arrived.

Mining Engineer J C Archibald Dies in Texas at 75
J C Archibald a renowned mining engineer and former Montana mine operator died in Laredo Texas Saturday morning after a heart attack at age 75. He ran mines in Mexico for more than 30 years and knew Pancho Villa. He also worked in Montana near Helena Butte including Golden Messenger and Mount Washington mines. He contributed to cyanidation innovations for gold and silver and studied at Lehigh University after growing up in Trinidad Colorado.
