Copper strike talks possible as union, companies prepare
In Washington D C on Friday C Jay Parkinson president of the Anaconda Co told Rep Arnold Olsen that company bargaining teams across the copper strike are ready for talks. A union spokesman in Denver said negotiations could resume late next week. Parkinson said each company team is alerted and ready to receive unions to begin negotiations without preconditions. Olsen said a federal strike panel report could start meaningful talks and that adequate economic benefits from the copper firms would prompt a quick settlement.
