A natural gas explosion destroyed a 40 unit three story Montreal building killing 26 and injuring 37 as five more were listed missing. Quebec officials and Premier Lesage joined the search as firefighters battled fires across adjacent structures and a temporary morgue was set at a hockey rink.

Kilroy Former Society Editor Dies in Butte
Mrs. Margaret Kilroy of the Virginia Apartments died after a two day illness in a local hospital. A pioneer Montana newspaper woman, she served as society editor of the Butte Daily Post for 35 years and taught in Anaconda Fergus County. Born Sept 30 1875 in Anaconda she moved to Butte in 1901 and was a charter member of the Butte Press Club.

Nelson Story of Bozeman Dies at 65
Nelson Story Ill, 65, prominent Bozeman businessman, died Monday at his home from a heart condition. A native of Bozeman and pioneer descendant, he aided civic life and funded Soldiers Chapel at Lone Mountain to honor his son Lt. Nelson Story IV and other Montana National Guard members killed in World War II. He served in Australia and New Guinea as commander of Co. C 163rd Infantry and retired in 1945 as a full colonel.
