In Albuquerque the five foot yearling cougar Peaches, who had taken shelter inside Glenn A. Valentine’s house, was recaptured by his wife. She lured the animal with a slab of liver and used an ironing board to restrain it, returning the lion to a wooden crate after two weeks of “sit-down” tactics. Valentine had previously brought Peaches back from a hunting trip in southern New Mexico.
