Butte Girl Dies of Burns Suffered April 23
Prudence Waymire nine year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Waymire of 3330 Keokuk died in a local hospital Wednesday afternoon from second and third degree burns received when a gasoline bottle toppled on her while dancing by a fireplace on Roosevelt Drive April 23. She was burned over most of her body except her face. The Forsyth native had shown progress after surgery on June 17, and hospital staff had hoped for recovery. She left notes unread as she could not write all the thank you letters promised. Survived by parents two brothers Larry and Frank two sisters Janet Mae and Junana and several grandparents and aunts. Body at Daly-Shea Mortuary.

Lightning strikes tractor. farmer dies near Christina
Harry Baulch, 65, of Christina, was killed instantly when lightning struck the tractor he was driving about 16 miles east of Christina Tuesday night. His body was found by his wife. Survived by his widow, four daughters and two brothers. he homesteaded the Christina Ranch in 1912.
