At the world economic conference delegates press President Roosevelt to approve temporary currency stabilization within a week. The gold bloc including France Belgium Switzerland and Holland with Britain pressed for action while the dollar fluctuated sharply. Prime Minister MacDonald and Neville Chamberlain attended the bloc meeting as French ultimatum dominated proceedings.

Testimony in the murder trial of Joseph H. Jennings 33 negro charged with slaying Eugene Robinson 50 negro at the Silver City club Feb 28 concluded. Instructions to be settled and final arguments to the jury at 10 am. Jennings testified in his defense and detailed events leading to the stabbing. State rebuttal presented seven witnesses. defense motion for directed verdict denied. Jury panel excused until 10 am Wednesday for Bond grand larceny trial.

A large crowd gathered outside the Standard office to hear Primo Carnera defeat Sailor Jack Sharkey for the boxing title. The announcer gave a blow by blow account of the bout via United Press wires, detailing Carnera's victory despite the rain.
June brings unusually low rainfall with .77 inch total so far, all but .29 inch on Wednesday and .35 inch yesterday. Compared to June 1913 when 9 inches fell in the month, this year shows the wettest month producing limited rainfall across Montana with Hebgen dam at .95 inch and other sites reporting extended rain across the western region.
Federal agents shot and killed Homer Weese 45, at a farmhouse near Joplin Missouri while raiding a whiskey still. They seized counterfeiting equipment and arrested two men, W J Romans of Shidler Oklahoma and W E Lauener of Jennings Oklahoma, after a gunfight with the occupant who opened fire. A notorious suspect known as the Lone Bandit was blamed for a July Fourth robbery at Paxson and Rockefeller in Butte. He demanded cash from two customers and three clerks at gunpoint around 7 pm, then fled in the rain. Russel Hitchens chased him to Mercury and Main before he disappeared.

The Associated Press reports a heat wave eased in parts of the Midwest as rain cooled scorched fields. Kansas towns like Junction City hit 116 while Emporia and Salina reached 110. Farmers baled hay to feed live stock amid a prolonged dry spell. Missouri saw readings near 98 in Columbia and 100 in St. Louis with rain breaking heat in some areas.
