Montana patrolman Ernest DeDycker dies at 57

Former Montana Highway Patrol captain Ernest DeDycker died of a heart attack in Bozeman at age 57. Born in Butte in 1920 he served in the Army Air Corps earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. He joined the patrol in 1950 and held multiple leadership posts before retiring in Helena in 1977. He was survived by wife Viola and other family members. Services in Dahl Mortuary Bozeman Thursday at 10.

Walter Bieri 79 died Saturday in Galen State Hospital. Graveside rites were held Tuesday at Mount Carmel Cemetery Anaconda with Rev. Laurence Morley officiating. Born in Switzerland July 10 1897 he immigrated to the United States in 1914. He was a former patient at Warm Springs State Hospital and resident of Park Royal Convalescent Home in Butte before Galen. Anaconda Man Pleads Guilty in Habitual Offender Case

Edward Ford Johnson of Anaconda pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle after state Habitual Traffic Offender status. Judge Robert Boyd ordered a pre sentence investigation by the State Parole Board after Johnson, with Public Defender Byron Boggs, withdrew a prior innocence plea. Deputies and the highway patrol arrested him. A Butte Silver Bow Planning Board meeting was canceled for lack of a quorum with several members absent while reviewing county wide zoning.

Nine Montana Tech scholars awarded scholarships to graduates

Nine recent high school graduates from Butte and Anaconda won a total of 1800 in Montana Tech Alumni Foundation scholarships. Each recipient gets 200 for their freshman year at Tech. Traffic death lawsuit filed in Bozeman district court

Dennis O'Connor as administrator of Jeanette O'Connor's estate sues Ophrey A. Lien for $143,000 over the March 24, 1976 traffic death of nurse Jeanette O'Connor. The complaint claims 15-year-old LeAnn Mary Lien caused the crash traveling east on Main at excessive speed and lists $125,000 pecuniary damages, $15,000 for pain and suffering, and $3,105 for hospital and funeral costs.

Money Stolen From Homes In Local Thefts

Thieves took three envelopes containing 250 from Mrs. Frank Bolton's home at 2720 Harvard after reaching through an open window. A 200 television set was stolen from F. Wagner at 306% N Washington with entry by tearing a screen. Ken Carner reported the theft of his truck antenna from 3400 Hill.
