Navy to Install Anti-Collision Radar on Four Engine Planes
The Navy will fit all four engine transport planes with a new anti collision radar device that lets pilots see obstructions up to 100 miles ahead. The system, a lighter war time radar variant, weighs about 150 pounds and provides a fuselage mounted radar map of area ahead, warning of mountains or other hazards. Tourists marooned by snow in Glacier National Park
About 150 tourists were stranded for four hours in Glacier National Park as a summer snowstorm buried the Montana Canadian border region six to ten inches deep.
