FBI Reports Saboteurs Are Captured
The FBI says eight Axis saboteurs crossed from France by submarine to wage a two year sabotage plan against U S war industries water supplies railroads and waterways. They confessed their roles after arrest with explosives and uniforms found near Jacksonville Florida and on Long Island New York. Hoover spoke at a New York press conference noting arrests began June 13 and the four in Chicago last Saturday. The group carried 149 748 61 in U S currency and planned to strike Aluminum Company of America sites and Hell Gate bridge among other targets.
