Lawsuit Targets Grayling Pipeline in Red Rock Lakes

A federal suit filed in Missoula seeks to block a U S Fish and Wildlife Service plan to install a water diversion pipeline in Red Rock Lakes Wilderness to increase dissolved oxygen for Arctic grayling at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Old Salt Festival charts regenerative ranching roots in Helmville

Thousands gathered at a three day event on a Helmville cattle ranch to celebrate regenerative and sustainable farming. Fourth Montana GOP lawmaker reports powder in mail envelope

Republican spokesman Kyle Schmauch says another Montana House member received an envelope with white powder similar to four earlier letters sent to GOP lawmakers. The powder was tested by local hazmat teams, found to be flour and not hazardous. No lab results have been released. incidents mirror others in multiple states.

Toxic chemicals removed at site of derailment

EPA officials reported progress in Stillwater County on removing rail cars from the Yellowstone River after the Reed Point derailment. Ten cars fell into the river, with six containing asphalt, three molten sulfur, and one scrap metal, while several fertilizer and asphalt cars on shore were removed. A dive team arrived to assess submerged cars as contractors and a crane stabilize and move them.
