Piano Recital at Parish House by Huffman pupils

Minuet and varied pianoforte program presented Thursday at St John’s parish house by Gladys Huffman pupils. Dorothy Matthews and Helen Marie Hanson will close with two piano numbers recently aired on Baldwin hour. Mrs Paul Bailor is soloist.

Brilliant Recital Showcases Student Virtuosity in Butte

Elsa MacPherson and Fr. Destabelle praised for guiding a Wednesday recital at the Butte high school auditorium. Soloists Egbert Fischer and Lucille Pullmer led a program of Mozart and Mendelssohn concertos, Viotti and Godard concertos, and two piano works, earning strong ovations amid a crowded audience. The event closed with a notable two piano composition by Helen La Velle, and the program included a Paris Conservatoire exam excerpt. A separate entry notes Silver Bow circle meeting in Fidelity hall with a brief business session and refreshments afterward.

Luther League Plans Delegates to State Convention

The Emanuel Lutheran church league will send at least two delegates to the state convention in Great Falls from July 12 to 14. A transportation committee of Ruth Anderson chair, Louise Johnson, and Arthur Verling will try to arrange for cars for additional delegates. Regular delegates named are Ruth Olson and Julia Nylund. Guests included the recent confirmation class. Edwin Nylund led games, and Ruth Olson, Julia Nylund, and Edwin Nylund served refreshments.

Rotana Club Forms Anaconda Chapter In Montana

More than 50 Rotana club members with national president Miss Lydia Gudmansen and national secretary Miss Marie Lynch met at the Montana hotel in Anaconda on Tuesday evening to organize a local chapter. Mrs James Paul Stagg was elected temporary president and Mrs W H Boggs temporary secretary.

Lincoln post No 2 meets in Patriotic hall at courthouse

Lincoln post No 2 of the Grand Army of the Republic held a regular session in Patriotic hall at the courthouse with Commander John Marchion presiding. M J Mullen of the United Spanish War Veterans spoke briefly and numerous guests attended. The gathering ended with Lincoln post and Henry W Lawton camp joining Flag Day exercises at the Butte lodge Elks temple.
