A $7,986,968 fourth year Model City grant for Butte was approved by HUD. The funding includes $3.156 million in the original fourth year budget, about $400,000 in reprogrammed third year funds, and over $4 million in supplemental grants for various projects. Butte School Board approves severance pay topping sixteen thousand

The Butte school board approved severance and vacation pay totaling over 16 000 for four employees after county attorney Stimatz advised it was permissible. Butte Board Moves To Make Butte High County School

The Butte school board votes to require County Superintendent Thomas Hitchcock to hold hearings and notify tax levies on Melrose Ramsay Divide Rocker and nearby lands. Supreme Court Rules Wiretaps Unconstitutional Without Warrants

Montana State stadium contract leads state construction awards

Montana officials awarded seven contracts totaling about 855 thousand dollars including 632 thousand for a new Montana State University football stadium south of the MSU Fieldhouse. Yellowstone Electric of Billings will provide stadium electrical work and Star Service, Inc. of Billings handles the mechanical contract. Fred Walsh, Inc. of El Monte California won the 383 thousand dollar contract to build a steel grandstand for 11 500 seating.
